When you have a baby - especially a newborn - people stop you everywhere you go to comment on your baby. Since I did this before I had Liam I expected it. However, I wasn't prepared for the other type of attention you get when you have a baby... the kind you know exists but you don't prepare for it... I'm talking about the attention you get for when your baby has loud bodily functions...
It seems whenever we go somewhere in public, Liam likes to let everyone know who he is by having loud gas or bowel movements. They are so loud Tim and I have nicknamed them EXPLOSIONS! So far his favorite places to have explosions are during mass when the choir is not singing, in the waiting room of crowded doctor's offices, or in Starbucks while I'm trying to get a caffeine fix. Liam's explosions are so loud they attract a lot of attention and even startle me! It's so embarrassing! However, all I can do is look at the relief Liam has on his face once he relieves his "fart jam" (as Memo would say) and laugh... one day Tim and I will share all these embarrassing stories with him : ) Oh the joys of mommyhood <3
"Ahhh relief! ... Now I need a diaper change..."
